![]() No one can kill IOTA, unless they manage to screw Coordicide off course.įound interest in Iota since in early 2018✋ was drawn into it by hype, lost interest right after the failure of Q, wallet hack, shutdown of mainnet etc. With all respect IOTA Foundation Development team, they just don't have a huge financial incentive to hit the roadmap deliverables on time.ĥ) I've seen dead project (+-$0.10) coming back from dead (LIVE ON PHONE). Goverment no need to use IBM or Microsoft private blockchain.Ĥ) For the first time we have three main projects developed outside the IOTA Foundation development team. IOTA Foundation can not die practically financially.ģ) IOTA MAINNET Smart Contract Validators is now EU Regulation Friendly because of the permissioned validators for smart contracts. Short answer: Personally i've been happy with the progress.ġ) There is visible progress: Chrysalis and beyond VERSUS no visible progress.Ģ) IOTA Foundation don't need to spend initial IOTA donation because they now receive grants from companies+EU. This shows how mentally involved i am with IOTA. When someone use the word "soon" in discord as a joke, it gave me a PTSD attack in 2019-2020, went to therapy for it. Jesus Christ, that was a nightmarish feeling while i was ALL IN IOTA. I truly saw (around 2019-2020) that even DOM and some IF foundation (OG) members have lost their faith in IOTA. ![]() I've been buying more IOTA since 2017 to bring my average buy price lower and yes its been a frustrating, so much drama. Sold my stocks + Used my lifesavings to buy Bitcoin (2016) > Ethereum (2017) > Ripple (2017) > Steller (2017) > IOTA (2017) Its been a rollercoaster ride, seriously so much pain, practically emotionally damaged. I've lost all my BTC/ETH/RIPPLE/STELLAR gains with IOTA + i also got banned from IOTA Discord. Without any jokes i've been seriously mentally challenged with my investment with IOTA. And I guarantee that if IOTA was in the top 20 of the market cap there wouldn't be so many complaints and frustrations, with the same project development, just because it's sad to think that if you had invested in almost any other project you would be better off. Anyway, I'm also of the opinion that IOTA is irrelevant until Coordicide happens to become decentralized. As u/RoqueNE commented the solution with Mana looks like a hybrid PoS solution and was a bucket of cold water in my head too, but sharding may solve this in the future. ![]() I have nothing against Shimmer and Assembly, I think they are good solutions, but they received a lot of hype. There are certainly other people who are not and who don't like the spotlight but contribute a lot to the project, like Sam Chen, Andrea Villa, Luigi Vignari, Kumar Anirudha, William Sanders and others I don't know. I really like the IF team as a whole, some members in particular, like Holger Köther, Mat Yarger, Antonio Nardella, Michele Nati, Charlie Varley. What are your thoughts on the IF’s performance over the last 3/4 years and it’s new direction?įor me, IF started to get serious and solidified after mid-2019. That said, there are plenty of positives as well with DID, Firefly, EBSI and the protocol is certainly getting more smooth and user friendly, and the IF foundation must of have one of the largest teams in the space. ![]() Not a space that is going to sweep IOTA into mass adoption. Is this not just the ICO boom bust of 2017 all over again, for which the IF are late to the party. These Dex’s and liquidity pools seem to be over complicated Ponzi schemes, many either rugpull or are unsustainable and collapse after 6 months, with only the owners profiting. The NFT trend also seems to be losing steam and attention. The IF are now focusing (for the foreseeable future) on the smart contract/ NFTs which is already steaming full of competitors and VC backed projects with a lot more money, resource and a lot better suited commercial structure to compete than the IF. There has been very little adoption (retail nor industry), not much progress on some of the big exchanges, still no governance voting. Honest question as someone who holds a good amount of IOTA since 2017, and will continue to do so l but I want to have an honest and frank discussion with the community. ![]()
